New Organization Application

The news organization applicant must regularly publish, in any medium, news concerning Oklahoma state government. The news organization must engage in coverage of Oklahoma state government on a continuing basis. Credentialed news organizations must be owned and operated independently of any industry institution, association or lobbying organization. Credentialed organizations shall not engage in legislative or executive lobbying as defined by the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, with the exception of activities through the Oklahoma Press Association or Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.
2025 Media Credentials Guidelines
Please review the Media Credentials Guidelines prior to submitting an application. Use the form below to apply for media access on behalf of a news organization. If you need individual media credentials, you will be able to add them on the organization management screen once approved.

A daily credential will grant a journalist the same access as a full credential. Journalists with daily credentials may access the Capitol press room and other designated press areas as space is available. Priority shall be given to journalists with full credentials. Journalists who repeatedly request a “day pass” will be asked to apply for a full credential.

All new organization applications are held for a period of 48 hours to allow time for the House and the Senate to review the pending request.

Non-credentialed entities, which include anyone employed by a group that lobbies the Legislature or citizen journalists, may cover proceedings from the galleries or other areas accessible by the general public. Non-credentialed entities shall not have access to the designated press briefing room (G5).
